Garon Yamashita
Family Support Committee | Construction/Site Selection Committee
My name is Garon Yamashita. I am a proud husband, father of three wonderful children,
and a front-line supervisor in the electrical utility industry where I lead a team of project
managers. Before that, I spent ten years serving in the United States Navy as a nuclear-
trained submariner. My time in the military shaped my deep appreciation for service,
teamwork, and community.
It was also during my time in the Navy that I developed a lasting passion for
volunteerism and civic involvement. Veteran service organizations showed me the
power of people coming together to serve something bigger than themselves. That spirit
of service continues to guide me today.
Serving on the Board of Directors for Ellis County Habitat for Humanity is truly an honor.
Habitat’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope is
something I deeply believe in. I am excited to contribute by helping streamline our
construction processes, improve coordination around build timelines, and create
systems that make it easier for our volunteers and teams to do the incredible work they
do.
Most importantly, I look forward to standing alongside our volunteers and community
members as we build homes that create stability, opportunity, and brighter futures for
families in Ellis County. Together, we are not just building houses, we are building hope.
