07/29/2005 Construction continues - Ennis |
Construction continues on the interior of 1005 N. Sherman. No general calls for volunteers are being issued in August due to the lack of supervisors, but call Dan Smith for the schedule if you can work.
There is a great need for supervisors that can work one or two Saturdays per quarter and meet with the construction committee to plan workdays. Dan's number is 972-937-7833.
Regularly scheduled work efforts will begin Saturday, September 10th primarily at the Ennis site.

07/29/2005 HFH of Ellis County in line for Ranger House |
HFH of Ellis County was one of the two sites selected to receive a "Ranger House." These houses are built on the Ameriquest Field parking lot in a blitz build and then trucked to their permanent site with the sponsoring Habitat providing the foundation and the finishing details. It's a great deal for the Habitat partner family, Jesus and Maria Gandara and the Rangers. The build begins on August 8 with skilled volunteers and continues through Saturday August 13.
Volunteers with general skills are invited on Wednesday through Saturday August 10-13. Mike Fenton will direct the Ellis County effort; please contact him at 972-937-7010 if you wish to participate.
The finished house will be dedicated Tuesday, August 23 at 2:00PM in the parking lot of Ameriquest Field, followed by an introduction of the family at the Rangers' home contest with the Seattle Mariners. A limited number of tickets is available for project participants. The house will be moved to Waxahachie August 25, with finish work scheduled for completion around Oct 1.
